Is This Love

One of my favorite Whitesnake songs. As a matter of fact it is our song. When my wife found out who sang the song she almost died. What is a white snake? Is this love? When you look at all that life has to offer, you see what is love.

God is love. For all those who toil and suffer and do not see the wonders of God, how can this be love? For the man who just got the diagnosis of the big C from the doctor, can this be love? For the wife, waiting to hear if the latest Baghdad attack took the love of her life, is this love? For the child making the decision to take their parent off of life support, is this love? No one said it would be easy. No one said that life was going to be a silver platter and a chocolate milk shake. God does not make our lives easy for his reasons. We are His creations and for those of us who are on the journey to become children of God, we are promised nothing more that His love and salvation.

I strive to be a Christian. I am working on the things that Christ has given as the paving blocks to heaven. I have taken him into my heart and strive to be like him, knowing that I am a dismal failure. But what is love? Knowing that if I dedicate my life to becoming more Christ like, I may get to spend eternity in the love of God. Is this love? I do believe it is. Let me sing you a few bars.
